The Benefits of Bone Broth

Bone broth is considerd to be one of the most ancient nutritional substances on the planet! Yet, much of the general public is unaware of the health benefits to making this elixir at home. Conventional broth bought at stores is highly processed and full of sodium; not exectly the height of the health scale. But bone broth, made the right way, contains many vaulable nutrients that can not be found in other commonly eaten foods! Bone broth has even been called "nature's multivitamin!"

Bone broth is high in minerals and chemical compounds that many of us lack. It boosts everything in your body from brain function, to immune system support, joint and muscles support, and even digestive function. Bone broth provides 19 essential and non-essential amino acids, as well as provides collagen and gelatin into your diet.

So what specifically does bone broth help?

1) Joints, Ligaments, and Bones: Collagen is the gel-like, smooth strucutre that covers and holds our bones together, allowing us to move freely. Chondroitin sulfate helps to reduce pain and infalammation, improve joint function, and slow the progression of osteoarthritis. Glucosamine aids in keeping te integrity of our cartilage, which is the cushion within our joints. Glucosamine is shown to decrease with age and often requires supplementation- so why not supplement naturally (and lower priced) with bone broth?  Glycosaminoglycans (GAG) aid in maintaining collagen and elastin within the body that we find in spaces between bones and fibers within the body. Several types of GAG's are found naturally in bone broth. Lastly, bone broth contains all of the vitamins that are essential for maintaining healthy and strong bones, including: calcium, protein, magesium, phosphorus, vitaim D, potassium, zinc, manganese, copper, boron, iron, vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin C, and B vitamins.

2) Digestive Health/Gut: You may have heard the news that HEALTH stems from you GUT. Many modern diseases seem to be rooted in an imbalance of microrganisms within the digestive system. GAG's are not only helpful for your joints, but they help to restore the intestinal lining. Gellatin found in bone broth, hydrophilic colloid, attracts and holds liquids and digestive juices, allowing your gut to digest foods properly. Collagen found in bone broth helps to form connective tissues and to "seal" the protective lining of the gastrointestinal tract. The sealing of the GI tract will help those suffering from constipation, diarrhea, some food intolerances, and will even help you absorb nutrients better.

3) Skin & Cellular Health: The collagen found in bone broth aids to health skin, nails, and hair. Also, hyaluronic acid aids in cell health; allowing cells to perform various functions as needed within the body. It also promotes healthy aging, cell rejuvination, and skin firmness. Bone broth also contains electrolytes to support cellular health and circulation.

4) Illness: In 2000, a study was published in Chest, the official ournal of the American College of Chest Physicians, which studied bone broth and found that it does aid in alleviating symptoms and complications of the common cold. The amino acid, cysteine, can thin mucs within your lungs and make it easier to expell. Bone broth can also open respiratory pathways, and provides for better digestion of nutrients- which are much needed when you are ill.

Bone broth has also bee shown to aid in the following: Improved mood, hydration, weight loss, build muscle, workout recovery aid, support of blood sugar regulation, improved sleep, minimalizes stomach acid, and even helps with bloddy noses!

It's no wonder that people have named this elixir "natures multivitamin"!
